We will present some of the new chairs that will be shoecased at our exhibition in Milan
SUGIYAMA,the manufacturer of a minimalist “iron furniture” brand that is heir toJapanese craftsmanship, will hold an exhibition at the Fuorisalone 2025 in Milan, following oursecond exhibition last year. SUGIYAMA is based in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture,located in central Japan. Seki is one of the most famous towns in Japan for themany well-known manufacturers based here, such as sword smiths, which takegreat pride in their craftsmanship. Founded in 1962, the company at first madeparts for automobiles and railroad cars. Since 2000, SUGIYAMA has beentransformed into a manufacturer of “Iron Furniture” brand products,utilizing the company’s skilled techniques and facilities to carry out allprocesses from planning to design and production. Theconcept of our third exhibition is “The Beauty of Handicraft.” We will presentnew chairs that explore the possibilities of iron. These minimalist designsthat take advantage of the characteristics of iron have functional beauty, andare gems that remind us of traditional blacksmithing work while remaining intune with modern life. The exhibited products will showcase the “Beauty ofHandicraft” created through the cooperation of designers, who produce designsfrom hand-drawn sketches, and iron craftsmen, who are masters of theirhandiwork.
